Crime; Crime films are films which focus on the lives of criminals. The stylistic approach to a crime film varies from realistic portrayals of real-life criminal figures, to the far-fetched evil doings of imaginary arch-villains.
Drama; Drama film is a genre that relies on the emotional and relational effects of realistic characters. While Drama film relies heavily on this kind of development, dramatic themes play a large role in the plot as well.
Family; Family film is a genre that is contains appropriate content for younger viewers. Family film aims to appeal not only to children, but to a wide range of ages. While the storyline may appeal to a younger audience, there are parts of the film that are more towards adults.
Horror; Horror film is a genre that aims to create a sense of fear and panic for the audience. These films are often tense and rely on scaring the audience through a portrayal of their worst fears and nightmares. Horror films usually center on the arrival of an evil force, person, or event.
Romance; this genre is also pretty self explanatory, it includes two people that fall in love. there are different themes in the romance genre, these can be either love at first sight, forbidden love or sacrificial love. the ending can either be happy or sad, these can vary. romance films aim to bring out strong emotions in the audience.
Thriller;a thriller genre focus's on putting the audience through suspense. the aim for thrillers is to keep the audience on edge and alert. the protagonist in these films is set upon a an escape, a mission or a mystery. the tension with the main problem is built throughout the film and ends with a climax.
